Another way to say I heart you...

This is yet another idea that I found on pinterest!  I am seriously addicted!

Anyways here are the supplies that you need...some embroidery thread, a needle, a marshmallow, a small scrap of paper and an edible writer (I picked mine up from Michaels...right with all the cake decorating stuff!).
Start by drawing an adorable little heart on your marshmallow...or whatever you want to draw/write!

Knot one end of the thread, and then stick it through the top lefthand corner (good side up)...

then wet the needle and stick it down through the top of the marshmallow...

then tie a knot in the string at the bottom of the marshmallow.

all thats left to do now it write on the tag...I am sure you can be more creative then me!!!

Here is one that I made for John's hot chocolate tonight!

Have fun with it!

Heart Day Garland

I found this garland over on Sweet Bee Buzzings and I just HAD to make it!

All you need is some felt, scissors, some sort of heart tracer (i used a cookie cutter), some ribbon, and a sewing machine! (this picture is missing the sewing machine and ribbon because they were downstairs and I really did not want to go down and get them for the picture...I will try to step it up for my next post!!! hahaha)

Trace the hearts onto a sheet of felt...if you are good at drawing them free-hand you could go ahead and just giv'er!  As I am typing this up I am thinking that it would be totally cute with a bunch of different styles and sizes of hearts!  Someone try it and send me pics!

 The cut out hearts!

I started by sewing some ribbon to the first heart...the front...

The back...

Then I just started feeding the hearts through the machine.  I sewed them together as close as I could although there are a few small gaps between hearts at some places.  I used white thread...mostly because it was already on the machine, and like I mentioned earlier I was not feeling overly ambitious tonight!  I love it with the white but it would have been cute with red, pink, or maybe even brown!  So whoever makes the random heart garland can try a different colour! ha!

When I hit the end I added another piece of ribbon.

The garland!!!

LOVES IT!!!

Hanging on our mantle which is at the moment decorated with DVDs, remotes, and some coasters...I will work on that!

So FUN!!!

I cut six pieces of felt into hearts and it made 2 separate strings of garland...or I could have made one REALLY long one!

Valentine's day countdown

Last year my sister and I made these ADORABLE muffin tin Valentines day countdowns!  We found the idea on an awesome blog...unfortunately I can't remember which one it was...if you know please leave me a comment so I can give them credit!

Anyways it was SUPER easy, and fairly easy on the wallet!  All you need is 2 sheets of magnetic paper, some coloured cardstock, ribbon, some scrapbooking valentines day supplies, and of course a muffin tin!

1.  Start by finding a cup, or some other circular item that is just slightly larger than the openings on the muffin tin.  Trace around it 12 times onto the magnetic paper and cut them out, and 12 times onto cardstock and cut them out!

2.  Cut 12-2" pieces of ribbon, they can be all the same, or all different, totally up to you!

3.  Fold the ribbon in half and use adhesive to stick it to the magnet paper circles, and then stick a piece of the cardstock overtop.

4.  Use your supplies to decorate the cardstock...be creative!

5.  Fill each of the spots on the muffin tin with a little heart with an activity written on it and a sweet treat!

The finished product!

Inside one of the spots...I have not added this years candy yet!
The little notes from inside the countdown!

the 12 activities that I have in my tin are, in no particular order...
-watch a movie together
-before going to bed tonight take 10 minutes to look at old pictures
-send each other a sweet text at some point during the day
-by the end of the day, go out of your way to do something nice for each other
-give each other a 10 minute massage before bed
-pick a number between 1 and 10 (whatever number they pick they get that many kisses!)
-take a valentines day picture of the fellas
-bake (make) a valentines day treat (oreo kisses)
-go for a starbucks
-deliver the oreo kisses
-take the boys on a valentines day stroll
-go out to the keg for dinner...Kels and G are coming to babysit! (hopefully I can convince them to do this again!!!)

If you have any fun new ideas add them as a comment!
