Peanut Butter Pie

My sister and I hosted a "favorite things" anniversary dinner for my parents last weekend...and one of my dad's favorite things...Peanut Butter Pie!

Here is your line-up!

Start by mixing your margarine and oreo crumbs, and press it into your pan of choice.  You could really use any type of pan for this.

Mix your cream cheese, peanut butter, condensed milk (seriously the best combo of ingredients eva!!!), vanilla and lemon juice together.

In a separate bowl whip your cream until it forms stiff peaks, and then gently fold it into your PB mixture.

mmmm...perfection!

Spread your mixture out on top of your crust, cool for at least 4 hours...

and ENJOY!!!

PEANUT BUTTER PIE
Crust
1/4 cup margarine
2 cups oreo crumbs
Filling
1 block of cream cheese
1 cup smooth peanut butter

Crickle Crackle Crunch

When I was in high school my boyfriends mom made this all the time, I forgot about it until I saw it on Pinterest today (if you are not on pinterest yet, get on, it is the best thing since sliced bread, if you need an invite leave your email in a comment and I will send you one).  It was called something different but I  checked the recipe and sure enough CCC!!!

It is so good that I had to go out and buy a new cookie sheet so I could make it because my cookie sheets do not have 4 raised edges...and I had to pack up 19 month old triplets for this trip...we are talking seriously good!

Start by lining your pan with parchment, and then a layer of saltines.

Next add 1 cup margarine and 1 cup brown sugar to a saucepan and bring to a boil for about 2 minutes...make sure you keep stirring.

Then pour your mixture over your crackers.

Throw it into the oven at 425 and watch for it to bubble...let it bubble for about 2 minutes and then take it out.

Add chocolate chips to cover the top and return to the oven until all the chips are melted (when they look shiny you are good to go, this picture is before it went in)

Then spread the chocolate around using the back of a spoon.  Put it somewhere cool until it has set.

Break it into pieces and enjoy!  Sweet & salty gets me everytime!

Snail Mail Monday - #5

I was feeling a little lazy this week so I didn't make anything to send...but I bought something and it is PERFECT for the person I am sending it to!

I have become somewhat obsessed with glitter pedis...my toes are constantly glittered...and I LOVE IT!!!

I found this glitter and immediately knew that it was going to make someone's toes extremely happy!

So in the mail it goes, simple as that...well I did include a little note too :)

If you have never taken ordinary craft glitter and given yourself a pedicure, go on over and visit Samster Mommy for an awesome tutorial!

snickers brownies

The other night my sister and I made the snickers brownies from my baking addiction...if are a baker and have not visited their site you better get over there!

Here is the line-up

Start by putting the margarine and chocolate into a bowl and microwaving in 30 second intervals.  Here is ours about 60 seconds in...

after a minute and 30 seconds our melting is complete!

Add your sugar, add in eggs, salt, vanilla and mix!

Gradually add your flour.

perfect!

Grease an 8x8 pan and pour half your brownie batter in. Then comes the fun part, sprinkle your snickers all over!

Then pour the second half of the batter on top...be sure to spread it as best you can while pouring so that you do move the snickers pieces while spreading!

no snickers showing! Ready to go in...

and out...

After it is COMPLETELY cooled...cut out your delicious brownies!

Recipe
(from my baking addiction)
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate; coarsely chopped
3/4 cup butter
1 ½ cups white sugar
3 eggs; lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 snickers bars
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Microwave chocolate and butter or margarine in large bowl in 30 second intervals until butter is melted.
3. Whisk until chocolate is melted. Stir in sugar. Add in eggs, extract and salt. Gradually add in flour and stir until just combined.
4. Spread ½ the batter into a greased 8x8 pan. Add an even layer of Snickers and cover with remaining ½ of brownie batter. Bake for 30-35 minutes; do not over bake.
5. Remove to cooling rack. Allow to cool completely before cutting.

Fun Felt Fridge Letters

On our fridge at home we have a set of alphabet letters and our boys ALWAYS want to play with them. Since the first thing they do when they get one is bite it I am crazy scared that one of the magnets will fall off and they will swallow it...so I decided to make a set out of felt.

Here is the line-up...
(minus the batting...I didn't end up using it)

Start by writing out all of your letters on the felt...you could print out letters to trace, I found it easier to just free and them

Next step is to cut out two of each...just fold it over when you are cutting.

LOVE all these colours!

Next I just sewed around the edges and made sure that the magnet was in each one before I sewed it up. I put two magnets in the M and the W.  I am still not sure what I am going to do with the letters that need holes...I tried just sewing the hole in the A, but I don't love how it turned out...and in some of the other letters the magnet would not fit if I were to do that anyways...I think I am just going to leave them for now!

A close up of my three favorite letters (the first letter of each of my kiddos names)

I put all of the letters on the fridge last night before I went to bed and about three minutes after the boys were up this morning this was the scene!
