Mars Bar Squares

I know that a lot of people already make these, but this is for those of you who don't!  Mars Bar Squares are crazy easy to make and beyond yummy!!!  Because you end with a chocolate layer on top they are also very easy to dress-up for any holiday using sprinkles, or even some chocolate drizzle!

Here is the line-up

Start by cutting up your mars bars.  I usually cut each one lengthwise once and then about 6 times the other way...and if you sneak a piece (or two) to eat the recipe will still turn out!

Melt 1/2 cup of margarine and all the mars bar pieces that you have left! hahaha

The mixture will appear to separate...

and then it will come together again, this is when you add...

the rice krispies!

mix until all of the rice krispies are coated and then press into a greased 9x9 pan.

As soon as you have the rice krispie mixture in the pan you can get started on the chocolate topping.  Mix the chocolate chips and reamaining margarine together on low heat

Stir until you have a smooth chocolate mixture

Spread it on your rice krispie mixture...

and then shake your pan from side to side to smooth it out.

and sprinkle!  ahhhh, I totally heart sprinkles!  These little hearts may be my current favorite!

Let the squares cool until the chocolate on the top has set.  Cut into 36 squares...or however many you want!

be-ooo-ti-ful!

All packaged up and ready to gift...if I don't get them wrapped up right away they seem to disappear...fast!
